Colleen’s students range from upper level competitors to beginners going to their first event. Colleen’s clear training methods and dedication to establishing basic principles brought great results in training young and rehabilitating difficult horses. With her students Colleen focus on positive reinforcement and a detail analysis of a rider.
Colleen’s primary focus is eventing, but she offers private lessons in dressage and show jumping.

Colleen has a wealth of practical experience which allows her to quickly pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of both horse and rider. Under Colleen’s instruction, my mare and I have gone from a lack of confidence, rhythm and adjustability to confidently communicating through correct use of the aids and equitation. Her coaching approach is a rare mix of the challenging and confidence-inspiring, and since she regularly trains with the sport’s greats, she’s constantly bringing back exercises and ideas to tweak for use with her own students. Though you’ll undoubtedly find Colleen competing several horses from beginner novice to advanced each weekend of the event season, she unfailingly finds time to coach her students and offer valuable feedback. I look forward to training with Colleen and following her career in the years to come!

Colleen is my current trainer. She was the first trainer I ever had that truly believe in my horse and has made us what we are today. She never stops caring for her horses and students. I strive to be the horse woman she is on a daily basis. Every day at the barn is a lesson, whether it be how to wrap his legs correctly or how to correctly dress a wound. Colleen has not only shaped me into becoming a better rider but a better horse woman.
