Turnabout Farm, LTD.
Located in Western Howard County, we are convenient to Baltimore (45 min), Columbia (20 min), Frederick (15 min), and Washington, DC (45 min). Located in the heart of USEA area II, we are easily accessible from I-70 and I-270; within three hours driving time of over 20 recognized events.
Since our move to the current location in 1999, there have been many changes. In addition to our 5 turnout fields of varying sizes we offer a large 125’ x 200’ all weather outdoor, a 82’ x 200’ indoor filled with 34 large windows to allow natural light, and access to miles of trails in the Patapsco park which forms one of our property borders. On our other side is our shared property line with the HCIBH Kennels.
Our outdoor has sand and bluestone footing over a packed bluestone base with great drainage so that we can ride outside even in wet weather. The majority of our jumps are located in our outdoor.
Our indoor was completed in March of 2008 by Sylvan Stoltzfus Builders assisted by the wonderful Karen Friedal from K & D Builders. Level Land did a fabulous job on the initial grading of the side of a mountain and then on the monumental task of footing. It enables us to ride no matter what the weather, (even insane amounts of snow).
One of our upcoming projects is to begin construction on our XC schooling field and paths. We have begun to cut more trails through the property to add in-house XC schooling. Our rolling hills are great for conditioning both horse and rider while teaching them how to deal with varied terrain that they will encounter either in eventing or even out foxhunting.
