Career Highlights

YEAR of 2012
March 24, 2012 – Colleen Rutledge was a huge hit at the USEA Area IV Annual Meeting!!

From Katie Lindsay: The attendees at the meeting represented most every facet of our sport – riders, trainers, coaches, officials, organizers, parents, breeders, facility owners and volunteers along with many Pony Clubbers – and Colleen’s tale touched chords in everyone in different ways. Following is Nora’s recap of the evening from a competitive rider’s point of view followed by a couple of paragraphs from me on why I find Colleen a fascinating human being.

FROM NORA: I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Colleen Rutledge last weekend at the USEA Area IV Annual Meeting and listening to her speak. My fellow website/newsletter editor Katie Lindsay had a few extra seats at her table with Colleen and invited me to join them for dinner. Because of this, not only did I hear her speak to the group at her allotted time. but I also got to see pictures of her horses and family on her iPad, listen-in as she discussed her other up and coming horses, and hear her candidly describe in a really funny and self-deprecating manner the challenges of competing an upper-level horse. continue reading

#49, Colleen Rutledge, Dillon, CCI2*: http://www.eventingnation.com-”–Colleen Rutledge has had a wonderful year including that great performance at Burghley with Shiraz. She finished the cross-country today with just 3.6 penalties on Dillon and they are provisionally in 6th.”

http://www.eventingnation.com- “–Collen can head into the off-season after a great autumn of competitions. After doing so well at Burghley aboard Shiraz she finished second at the two-star with Dillion. Colleen has had a couple of tough falls on Dillon this year and re-routed to the two-star from their original plan of doing the three-star at Fair Hill and it worked out great for them. Fair Hill couldn’t have a classier group of podium finishers.”

The Chronicle of the Horse, Colleen talking about Dillon’s performance at CCI**: “He picked up and gave me everything he had this weekend,” she said. “I’m completely proud of him. He jumped fantastically today. The footing yesterday was some of the toughest I’ve had to go in, and the fact that he came in today and exploded everywhere—I was so thrilled with him. We had three really good phases all weekend, and I’m so happy to put all three together in the same weekend.” read full article >
